Because of the rapid growth of the Black History Month celebrations over the past nine years, we have been able to showcase a variety of distinct programs. This year’s celebration has been amazingly diverse.  It has shown the cross-genre of music from the gospel to the classic and yes, even the Africans partake of high tea.

This year has been a very special year due to the inauguration of the first African American as president of the United States of America. We, as individuals can help the dream of inclusiveness become a reality in our everyday lives.

Again, we thank you for your much-appreciated contribution during the Black History Month events.  In the coming years, we look forward to your continuing support of our society.  Your contribution is invaluable as it enables us to bring Black History to life and cause it to thrive within our community and all of Vancouver Island.
